Elite School of Optometry (ESO) has been encouraging optometry research in India for many years. One of the accomplishments of ESO in this regard is the annual conference on vision science and optometry. In 2002, in memory of the late Principal Dr. E. Vaithilingam, ESO initiated a national scientific session to encourage optometrists and optometry students from all over India to present their research work. Every year, the quality and quantity of presentations have been increasing exponentially.

This year, the 19th Dr EV Memorial Session is focused on the theme “Celebrating Optometry”. Aligning with this years Optometry Day, the conference would encompass sessions and contests covering clinical, community outreach, research and education aspects of optometry. Like you, we are also eager to listen to diverse topics from Dr Aparna Raghuram, Harvard Medical School and Boston Children Eye Hospital, Dr Subash Sukumar, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and Ms Jude Stern , Head of knowledge Management, International Agency for Prevention of Blindness, Dr R Krishna Kumar, Former Principal of ESO and Ms Lakshmi Shinde, CEO, Optometry Council of India. The conference is also opening interesting contests for the students, faculty, researchers and practitioners.

Mark your calendar and make plans to join us to “Celebrate OPTOMETRY” from March 25th to 28th 2021

Warm welcome!
