39 years of excellence in optometry education
Bachelor of Optometry is a four-year programme with three years of academics and one year of internship. Academic courses are divided into Basic sciences, Core Optometry, Applied Optometry and Supportive courses.
Duration: 4 years (Three years of academics and one year of Internship). Students would undergo the first two years of academic training at SASTRA University, Thanjavur and the next two years at Elite School of Optometry and Sankara Nethralaya, units of Medical Research Foundation. As part of clinical rotations, students will be posted in all branches of Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.
Eligibility: Anyone who has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (XII standard) from the Central/State Board or its equivalent with excellent performance in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology can apply. Computer Science students with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics can also apply.
